Wichita High School Partnership Principals

The Wichita High School Partnership Principals took a short train ride yesterday from Wichita to the small town of Whitewater, Kansas.  On our field trip, werode in passenger cars from different eras being pulled by Steam Engine No. 844 – the last steam locomotive built for Union Pacific Railroad.  We were invited to ride as recognition for our role as educators in the community; we were joined by “First Responders” (Police, Fire, and EMS), as well as, local government representatives.  Our Superintendent and his Student Advisory Committee (kids representing each of our high schools) were along for the ride and we all had a blast!  Every crossing had folks waving and taking photographs and video – it was a “big deal” around here.
We talked about how supportive U.P. has been of us in the past couple of years and we wanted to say THANKS!   You, and the folks of Union Pacific, have established a wonderful partnership with Wichita, and the Wichita Public Schools.
