Measures Nyssa Has Undertaken that Ken feels have helped Close the Gap:


• Fostering a passion for and a commitment to our beliefs and values as a school....Failure is NOT an Option is the strongest underlying belief and value at Nyssa.

• School Motto: Everyone Every Day A Success......Success is not just a percentage. It is sometime the simplest success now, that leads to a more significant success down the road.

• Effective use of our data to drive instructional decisions

• Insuring a personalized approach for every student including the subgroups of Ell and Special Ed.

• One adult mentor for every student: A Strong Advisory Program

• English language development classes for every ELL student

• Every Sophomore takes the PLAN Test

• Transition of Freshman and Seniors

• Creating an affective, effective and safe school culture that improves the learning environment.
